The SIGMA 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM incorporates Sigma’s original anti-shake compensation function, with a 13.8 times zoom ratio. As opposed to having an anti-shake function in the camera body, this lens’s Hybrid Optical Stabilizer provides not only an anti-shake function for the camera body, but also compensates for image shaking in the view finder as the Optical Stabilizer is built in to the lens. Incorporating four Special Low Dispersion glass elements and three aspherical lens elements provides excellent image quality throughout the entire zoom range. This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 45cm (17.7 inches) at all focal lengths and a maximum magnification of 1: 3.4 reproduction ratio, making it ideal for close-up photography. An inner focusing system eliminates front lens rotation, making it suitable for use with circular polarizing filters and the supplied petal-type hood. Incorporating super multi-layer coating reduce the ghost in the backlight photography.

This is my favourite all-in-one travel lens. While image quality is better on more expensive lens, it still takes great photos. Auto-focus is quiet and precise. Excellent bang foot the buck. Optical stabilization works well too. While I would have like shipping to have been $20-30 less, this item shipped out super fast and arrived safe via courier. |

Purchased to replace Canon 18-55 and 55-250 Kit lens. Selected after reviews (dpreview) for better focusing ability over Tamron. This lens is ecellent quality and price for a novice / enthusiast. Used on a EOS 60D at 18Mb RAW, images comparable to the Canon kit pair.The lens is noticeably heavier than either Canon lens. There is a bit of resistance when zooming from 18mm but this can be overcome if pointing the lens down. There is also some issues with the focus mechanism making a grinding sound when focusing at 250mm. Make sure you remove the zoom lock before attempting to zoom (only locks at 18mm)Unable to find a cheaper price delivered anywhere on the web to match Top Buy.Great value for money from Top Buy. |
